On tonight’s episode of
The Next Food Network Star, the contestants get a 3am wakeup call from Robert Irvine, host of
Dinner: Impossible. They were divided into 3 teams and were sent to gather ingredients and answer food knowledge questions along the way. If they get it right, they can have their ingredient and move on. If they get it wrong, one team member earn the ingredient by doing food prep at the location. Despite a lack of culinary training,
Adam,
Aaron, and
Jennifer pull off a win.
All the contestants met up at a train station where they found out that they’d have to prepare a meal for the selection committee and 30 guests aboard a train. They’d have to incorporate the 3 ingredients they picked up during the first part of their challenge as well as make a presentation before serving their food. Everything was going well for Adam’s team until they boarded the train and seemed incapable of minding their own business.
Adam’s team got it together for their presentation but he failed to impress the committee with his raw eggs. They seemed much happier with Aaron’s personality and steak.
Nipa and
Shane both came across as lackluster when they presented their dishes while
Lisa earned some respect for her french toast. The judges think that
Kelsey has the right personality to become a television star.
At panel, the judges singled out Aaron for a bold performance and a perfect dish. They ask Jen to assert herself a little more. Kevin and Jeffrey are told that their angles aren't exactly working for the committee. The judges came down on Nipa's team (which also included Shane and Lisa), feeling that they need to see more from all of them. When Nipa barely speaks up, Bobby asks her if she's enthusiastic about being on the show and she cannot provide an answer. She cracks under the pressure and walks out of the room. After composing herself, Nipa returns, apologizes, and shares more of her story with the judges.
Despite her apology, Nipa still lands in the bottom two alongside Kevin. However, the judges see more potential in her and decide to send Kevin home.
