Originally from Dallas, Texas, Lisa Garza is a former beauty queen who know owns a restaurant. In 2006, she was voted by a Dallas daily as one of the city's "5 to Watch - Chefs." He co-owns and plans special events for Suze Restaurant and Catering. Not content with sticking with the food, Lisa also designs her own line of chic kitchen aprons thus adding her own style to the kitchen. Her favorite activities include going on road trips with her son and basically just having a good time with loved ones.

According to her, she deserves to win because she has a lifetime's worth of cooking experience plus a lot of great stories to share with viewers. Thus, she plans to user her show, if ever, to improve the lives of others through food and service.
