It will be like old times all over again for
Seinfeld stars
Jason Alexander and
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, when Alexander makes a guest appearance on
The New Adventures of Old Christine. Alexander, George Costanza on
Seinfeld, will soon play a potential romantic interest for Louis-Dreyfus' Christine.
CBS announced on Wednesday that Jason Alexander will appear in an episode of
The New Adventures of Old Christine, when it returns for its third season.

Both actors rose to prominence as mainstays of the top-rated and multi-awarded ‘90s sitcom,
Seinfeld. The series, which ran for nine years since premiering in 1990, has been a benchmark for its genre ever since. Jason Alexander earned seven Emmy and four Golden Globe nominations for his work on the series. For her part, Julia Louis-Dreyfus won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Jerry Seinfeld's ex-girlfriend turned sidekick, Elaine Benes. She bagged another Emmy in 2006 for her titular role on
The New Adventures of Old Christine.
It has been over seven years since Alexander and Louis-Dreyfus have shared screen time on television together. In the particular upcoming
New Adventures of Old Christine episode, Alexander will play a lizard handler for children's birthday parties, who goes on a date with divorced working mother, Christine Campbell.
The show originally raked in an average of 12.5 million viewers during its maiden season but suffered a marked decline, averaging 10.4 million spectators in its sophomore year. Despite the significant drop, the network decided in May to pick up the series for a third year.
The New Adventures of Old Christine has been considered as the lone exception thus far, to what has been dubbed as the
Seinfeld curse. Previous forays of former
Seinfeld actors into other series have all ended in dismal failures. Among the casualties are
Michael Richards'
The Michael Richards' Show, Alexander's
Bob Patterson and
Listen Up and Louis-Dreyfus'
Watching Ellie.
