As
The New Adventures of Old Christine heads further into the fourth season, viewers will learn about Old Christine a little bit more. In fact, the show is bringing in one of her family members and she comes in the form of acclaimed British actress Brenda Blethyn.
The 62-year-old veteran has performed predominantly in leading roles in a range of films, including
Secrets & Lies, Little Voice, Saving Grace, and
Pride & Prejudice. Recently, she has been cast in a series of upcoming movies such as
The Calling, London River, No One Gets Off in This Town and
King of the Pipers.
On
The New Adventures of Old Christine, Blethyn will be playing
Julia Louis-Dreyfus' on-screen mother, according to
TV Guide. Little is known about what's in store for her character and there's no word yet on how long she'll be staying in town. However, she is expected to make her debut on the sitcom in late November or early December.
Currently on its fourth season,
The New Adventures of Old Christine revolves around a divorced mother who struggles to keep her pace with the people around her, including the “meanie moms” at her son's new private school and her ex-husband's new love new Christine.

Alex Kapp Horner as Lindsay,
Clark Gregg as Richard,
Emily Rutherfurd as New Christine,
Trevor Gagnon as Ritchie,
Tricia O'Kelley as Marly, and Wanda Sykes as Barb.
On this week's episode, Christine is frustrated when Ritchie stops telling her he loves her. Because of this, Christine asks Richard to have a baby with her so she can have a new child to love her the way Ritchie used to. Catch "Everyone Says I Love You Except Ritchie" tonight on
