The youngest of the Sheffield children, she suffered the most from her mother’s death and had to see a therapist several times, from whom she learned to make clever psychological comments. Like her older sister Maggie, she grew close to their nanny Fran Fine (who called her “Gracie”), seeing Fran as a mother figure. Grace even ran away one time to Fran’s home of Flushing, Queens where she attended her first Jewish wedding. She is also often Fran’s assistant in the nanny’s schemes to avoid parking tickets or to appear more popular.
