On tonight's episode of The Listener - "Some Kinda Love" - our favorite supernatural paramedic Toby (Craig Olejnik) meets and hooks up with a woman - beautiful pathologist Mina - in a club, who turns up dead.  Logically, he becomes one of the prime suspects.  Of course, he proceeds to do some "listening" to uncover the identity of the real murderer.  Just when he thinks he's close to solving the case, he discovers that there's something more to it than murder, and Mina may have uncovered a conspiracy within the coroner's office.

On the last episode of the Canadian import, Toby was plagued by visions of a missing girl after he bumped into a young homeless man. He was certain that the girl was abducted, so he pursued the homeless person to get some insights regarding the girl's whereabouts.  Eventually, however, he figured he might have gotten more than he bargained for, since it's possible that the homeless person might share his psychic abilities. Thanks to the emotional exhaustion because of the incident, he tried to salvage his failed relationship with on-and-off girlfriend and ER doctor Olivia Fawcett (Myléne Dinh-Robic).  Unfortunately, Toby was unable to shut the visions off and must act quickly if he wanted to save the girl.

All 13 episodes of the first season of The Listener - centered on young paramedic Toby - was picked up by NBC early February of last year. Its pilot in the US reeled in a modest 5.25 million viewers, the numbers dwindling to 4.21 mil on its last outing.

Other than the central couple of Toby and Olivia, The Listener also stars Enis Esmer as Toby's partner Osman Bey, Colm Feore as his old counselor and confidante Dr. Ray Mercer, Lisa Marcos as Detective Marks, and Anthony Lemke as Det. Sgt. Becker.

Catch The Listener tonight 10pm on NBC.
