News has long been out that plans for a sequel to this summer’s
The Incredible Hulk is very much underway. Fans are giddy, and so are some of the potential cast. Example: Tim Blake Nelson, who is best known in the Coen brothers’ flick
O Brother, Where Are Thou?—he’s been pegged to play the villain The Leader in the sequel.
Currently, the actor, director and playwright is busy with the drama
Leaves of Grass, which features his
Hulk co-star
Edward Norton in two roles. While shooting, he admits to having discussed their summer blockbuster together. “We talked about it a little bit, yeah,” he said. “We made some jokes about it. It’s all good, and I really do hope [the sequel] happens, for all sorts of reasons. I’m eager to do
Hulk 2 if they make it.”
He definitely enjoyed working with Norton, hinting that the film worked well with their complementary pairing. “I feel Edward and I are well-suited for one another,” he said. “It’s really fun collaborating with him, and he made these characters better."
Despite the reported falling out between Norton and Marvel Studios, however, Nelson is set to appear in two Hulk sequels. “Well, I’m signed on to do
Hulk 2 and
3 whether Edward’s there or not, so it’s not even up to me,” he said. “When I agreed to do
Hulk, I signed off for two sequels, so it’s a moot question. I certainly hope Edward is on the sequel—but that’s up to Marvel and Edward.”
