The House Bunny
Originally produced with the working title I Know What Boys Like, The House Bunny is a comedy film written by Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah Latz, who were also behind the screenplay for Legally Blonde.  The film is headlined by Anna Faris, who also appeared in films such as My Super Ex-Girlfriend, The Hot Chick and the Scary Movie series.  It also stars Colin Hanks and Emma Stone.

The film centers on Shelley Darlington (Faris), a Playboy Bunny who is kicked out of the house because of her age—27 human years is “59 in bunny years,” one scene in the trailer said.  Used to living a carefree and pampered life in the Playboy Mansion, she is forced to fend for herself by looking for a new place to live in.  She stumbles with the sorority girls of the Zeta Alpha Zeta—among them, Natalie (Stone), Harmony (American Idol’s Katherine McPhee), and Joanne (Rumer Willis)—who are at risk of losing their sorority home to the scheming members of rival sorority Phi Iota Mu unless they sign a new pledge class.  She offers to become their housemother, teaching the socially-inept but intelligent girls the ways around make-up and men.  Along the way, she herself picks up something that she badly needs from the Zeta girls—individuality.

The film, Fred Wolf’s second as a director, is produced by Happy Madison Productions, Adam Sandler’s production outfit.  The company is also responsible for other successful comedies such as Little Nicky, Mr. Deeds, Anger Management, The Benchwarmers, Click and I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry.  The film also stars Kat Dennings, Kiely Williams, and Beverly D’Angelo as the housemother of the Phi Iota Mu girls.  The film will be distributed by Sony Pictures, and is slated for a theatrical release on August 22, 2008.
