There days that I think I’m too old for
The Hills. After all, I’m turning 30 this year, I work hard for everything I get in life, and I can’t imagine fighting about the petty things that these girls fight about. When the season 4 trailer for
The Hills hit MTV during the finale of
Legally Blonde: The Search For Elle Woods, though, I forgot about all of those things. I sat there, glued to my television, for the entire 2 minutes it played. When it ended, I literally said out loud, “That… looks… AWESOME,” and called my friends to talk about it. They had already seen it and were just as excited so I didn’t feel alone. This looks to be the best season of
The Hills yet, full of high drama and hot guys. What’s not to be excited about?

A new season means new boyfriends and
Lauren,
Whitney, and
Audrina are on the prowl. Lauren starts dating a handsome, rich guy named Doug, who comes complete with private jet. Brody doesn’t seem to take too kindly to him. In fact, the two get into a fist fight that lands them both in jail. Whitney meets an attractive male model and it’s clear that the two have chemistry right off the bat. Audrina moves on to Colin, who seems really down to earth and a person who makes her happy. Things get complicated, though, when she tries to explain her new relationship to Justin Bobby.
Of course,
Heidi and
Spencer will be back. As much as they may hate Lauren, they love camera time and they’ll get a lot of it. They go to war with Spencer’s sister, Stephanie, when she invites Lauren to her birthday party. The nerve! When Heidi’s sister tries to move in with the couple, they turn their back on her, telling her to get out soon after she arrives in California.
There’s still unfinished business from last season that needs to be addressed. Stephanie confronts
Brody, asking why he told Lauren not to trust her. His reason is simple: she’s nuts. Perhaps Lauren should have listened to her friend (with benefits). Stephanie goes behind Lauren’s back and heads out on a date with Doug. There’s also the Lauren/Lo/Audrina living situation and it’s become a case of Lo vs. Audrina, with Lauren stuck in the middle. Lauren and Audrina have a heartfelt conversation, where LC begs for things to go back to the way they were. She should know, because of her experience with Heidi, that it’s just not possible.
The Hills returns on August 18th, Monday night at 10pm ET, on MTV.
