The Hills

Last night, MTV served up two episodes of The Hills. In the episodes, Lauren paid Whitney a visit at work and ended up getting an opportunity to work there as well. If my friend worked for a designer that could launch my career, I’d casually stop by, too. Stephanie ruffled the feathers of both her brother and best friend when she showed up at Lauren’s birthday party. Spencer was angry and made Stephanie cry when he confronted her. Clearly, he feels that Lauren deserves no friends and constantly starts drama whenever her name is merely mentioned. Somebody needs to tell him to man up and move on.

Yes, once upon a time, Lauren didn’t like Spencer but didn’t she have good reason? When Spencer first started dating Heidi, there was a lot of evidence that he was flirting with and asking out Audrina as well. He had been seen out at bars flirting with other girls and treating Heidi with a great deal of disrespect. Any girl would a brain in her head would steer clear of Spencer for anything other than a one night stand (and I wouldn’t even go there). He’s just not boyfriend material which has been made clear more than ever as the seasons roll on.

Lauren did what any good friend would do – warn Heidi that Spencer isn’t the guy for her. Spencer did his voodoo brainwashing magic on Heidi and the two ended their strong friendship. When Brody got close to Lauren, Spencer cut ties with his childhood best friend. When his sister offered an olive branch to Lauren, Spencer brought her to tears. Is this what Spencer does with his life? Angst over Lauren and get rid of anyone who even says hello to her? Spencer needs to grow up, focus on being a man, treat others with respect, and let go of his obsession with Lauren. It’s unhealthy, it’s creepy, and frankly, it’s unattractive. He’s all yours, Heidi.
