I’m starting to think that, on The Hills, Spencer is literally out to destroy Heidi’s life. Not only has he cost her just about every friend she had, he cost her her job on last week’s episode. It seems that every time Spencer shows up, bad things happen. He almost ruined her with her boss, Brent Bolthouse, in Vegas last season after he flew there to win her back. Then, he showed up to one of her most high profile events since the Vegas incident and encouraged her to drink while on the job.  The result was a swift dismissal from Bolthouse, leaving Heidi feeling depressed - understandably so.  When will this girl realize that nothing good has happened to her since she teamed up with Spencer?

On last night's episode, Heidi moped around the apartment, saying that she would start looking for jobs.  Spencer did not seem remotely interested or sympathetic.  Instead, he offered ridiculous suggestions, such as offering to be a reference for her.  If a potential employer called, he's just say that she was "the most awesome girlfriend".  That Spencer is such a wealth of useful advice and information, isn't he?

As if his lack of support wasn't obnoxious enough, he decided that it was his job to get Heidi her old job back.  When the couple ended up at the same club as Brent, Spencer felt he should go talk to him.  Heidi begged him not to but Spencer doesn't listen to anyone nor does he have any awareness of how much people hate his guts.  Brent made it pretty clear though and I've never loved someone more.  As Spencer tried to make his case for Heidi, he dismissed him completely, saying that he never wanted to see him at any of his events again. 

This jerk move forced Heidi to go over to Brent herself, apologize for Spencer and then apologize for herself.  Hmm, where has Brent heard this song before?  She basically begged for her job back but he didn't seem to be reconsidering at all, nor should he.  Last night's episode really showed just how pathetic Heidi and Spencer have become.  No one takes them seriously, people don't like them, and now they're being kicked out of high profile events. 

Might I suggest an intervention for Heidi?  Let's get her entire family together, Lauren, Audrina, Lo, Brent, Brody, everybody we can get our hands on... sit this girl down and get her into some Spencer rehab. Send this girl to detox!!
