The Hills: Spencer Pratt "Trying to Win" Back Heidi Montag

At the end of The Hills third-season finale on Monday, viewers watched as Heidi Montag moved out of the apartment she was sharing with Spencer Pratt and returned to her home state of Colorado to be with her family.  Her departure has left her relationship with Pratt hanging in the balance, but fans of the couple need not fret just yet, as it seems Pratt is unwilling to have Montag out of his life.

In a morning interview on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio program on Tuesday, Pratt told of his continued attempts to reunite with Montag, who showed up at the The Hills live after-party without him and the engagement ring he presented to her back in May.

"[I'm] madly in love with Heidi and trying to win her back to marry her," Pratt told the American Idol host.  "In my mind I'm not moving on or looking for dates.  I don't know where Heidi is, I know she needs her space, but I don't want to get back to my bachelor days…  Heidi is the most perfect girl on the planet."

Although Pratt's claims give the impression that he has had little or no contact with Heidi Montag since she left for Colorado, sources told People magazine that the two were spotted together at Koi after The Hills live finale broadcast.  The magazine also reports that photographers snapped the supposedly dueling duo arm-in-arm.

This further fuels speculations – which began in September when a “friend” of Montag and Pratt told OK! Weekly that the two were “going to stage a huge break-up, and Heidi is going to pack up all her stuff and move out of their apartment" – that the couple's break-up is not legitimate, and was indeed orchestrated in order to create more drama on the show.

During his interview with Seacrest, Pratt did not offer any other details regarding the current status of his relationship with Heidi Montag, saying that the eight bonus episodes airing in the Spring “are going to clarify” what transpired in the The Hills season 3 finale.

"It's top secret. I think the wedding is definitely on pause, last I heard," he said.
