The Hills: Episode 4.6 Recap
The Hills: Episode 4.6 Recap
Tonight's episode of The Hills is appropriate titled "You Always Miss A Best Friend", referring to the broken down relationship between one Lauren Conrad and one Heidi Montag.  Cue Heidi's sister, Holly, who starts expressing how much she misses Lauren.  Back in the good old days, Holly, Heidi, and Lauren were like The Three Musketeers, but instead of protecting their country, they went tanning, shopping, and clubbing.  Same thing.  Do yourself a favor, Holly.  Don't even mention Lauren's name around Spencer because he doesn't care who you are, he'll tell you off and storm out of the room.  He basically forbid Holly from seeing Lauren as long as she was staying with them, while Heidi sat quietly by.  Spencer and Lauren are quickly becoming like the Montagues and the Capulets, except one is the arguably the greatest play ever written and the other is a reality show poorly acted by spoiled Hollywood 20-somethings.

Spencer may be able to control Heidi's mind but he clearly doesn't dictate what anyone else in his life does.  First, his own sister decided to stay friends with Lauren and now Heidi's sister is on board, too.  Holly texted Lauren and the two set up lunch plans.  Understandably, Lauren was apprehensive about going, especially since her relationship with Stephanie is so filled with drama.  She went anyway, though, and listened as Holly told her that Heidi was overwhelmed by the loss of her friendship with her.  The whole episode made it seem like the former friends really missed each other but I'm just chalking it up to the people in the editing department over at MTV.  I don't expect a teary reunion and reconciliation any time soon.

Show of hands: who is surprised that Justin Bobby acted like a d-bag tonight?  No one?  Well, let's talk about him anyway.  Audrina has given him more than enough chances and was the only person happy about the two of them getting back together.  Tonight, she had a big event for Epic Records, so big in fact, that the president of the company was coming.  She invited Lauren and Lo (who showed up and were even civil to one another) and Justin, who promised to come.  That night, though, he didn't answer her texts and he didn't show up.  Shocker.  Unload the hippie hairdresser and tell him to take a shower and stop talking with a weird accent.  You're from L.A., you loser!

If I could travel into the future, I'd skip ahead to next Monday so I could watch the next episode of The Hills.  Lauren goes away, leaving Audrina and Lo home alone.  When they go out, they run into ... who else?  Heidi and Spencer (yay awkwardness)!  Meanwhile, Stephanie ignores all rules of friendship and heads out on a date with Doug.  No worries about Lauren finding out.  Brody wastes no time in letting her know what happened.  Can those two just get together and stay together?  Until next week...
