It’s hard to believe that there was ever a time that
Lauren Conrad and
Heidi Montag were friends. In season 1 of
The Hills, Heidi began dating
Spencer Pratt. She claims that Lauren liked him but changed her tune when the cameras were rolling. Lauren’s hatred of Spencer tore the friends apart and things were ruined forever after Heidi and Spencer leaked to the press that Lauren had a sex tape. The rift forced people to take sides and
Audrina Patridge chose to give her loyalty to Lauren. At the end of season 3, Audrina connected with Heidi again and now, she’s playing both sides had to have two separate birthday parties recently to appease them.
"Lauren threw Audrina a bash at the house they share," an insider told National Ledger, a celebrity gossip site. "She wanted to do something special for her because they had a rough year." The insider went on to say that Heidi showed up at a second party for Patridge the next night. “Audrina's parents put together an invitation-only, casino-themed party for her at their Orange County home, and Audrina really wanted Heidi to be there, since the girls have become close again,” the insider said.
Audrina did not have to worry about which side she'd take at The Hills finale party last week. Heidi and Spencer never showed up but rumor has it that the two weren't even invited! MTV claims the two were extended an invitation but blew off the event while a source close to the on again, off again couple stated that they were simply "never invited". At the party, Audrina said that season 4 will feature her decision to either stay living with Lauren or move out on her own. Lauren will undoubtedly have to face the fact that Audrina and Heidi have become such good friends again and perhaps, the ladies of
The Hills are moving out without her.
