Following her interview with
US Weekly Magazine and the MTV-imposed media blackout on
The Hills' cast members,
Lauren Conrad spoke to
American Idol host
Ryan Seacrest last week, with the talk again revolving around her ongoing feud with former best friend and co-star
Heidi Montag. However, instead of the usual mud-slinging that has transpired between the two women, Conrad approached the issue with a milder tone.
"I miss her personality, because she is not the same person anymore," Conrad said during the interview on Seacrest's KIIS -FM radio show. "I was best friends with her for two years and now I feel like I don't even know the same person anymore."
Tension between Conrad and Montag have been high since the latter began dating
Hills' co-star, Spencer Pratt. In a recent interview, Conrad claimed that her fight with Montag has reached a more personal level, and no longer has to do with Montag's relationship with Pratt.
The fight has led to some unpleasant consequences for the newly engaged couple. Montag declined to attend at
The Hills' seconds-season finale after-party early this year because Pratt did not receive an invitation. For the show's third-season premiere party, it was reported that neither of the couple was placed on the guest list.
Most recently, MTV “suspended” Montag and Pratt after they went on a verbal tirade against Lauren Conrad during an interview with the Philadelphia radio station, Q102 FM.
With everything that has happened between
The Hills stars, Conrad conceded that there is a possibility she and Montag will reconcile, though their relationship will certainly not be the same as before.
"I mean I don't think so, you never know though. Probably not," Lauren Conrad told Seacrest. "I can see us getting to not hating each other but I don't think we would ever go back to being best friends."
The third season of
The Hills airs Monday nights at 10pm on MTV.
