High School Musical: Ashley Tisdale as Stephanie Pratt in 'LA Candy'?
It was tough to envision The Hills and High School Musical in one sentence, but maybe one could be the grown-up version of the other.   Luckily, a recent report regarding of Ashley Tisdale and Stephanie Pratt has done the job of combining the two topics pretty well.

According to Disney Dreaming and MTV, Tisdale has been chosen by Pratt to portray her in the film version of Lauren Conrad's novel, LA Candy.  There's been news that the producers of Twilight have been tapped for the task, and casting has been the buzz since then.

When MTV talked to Hills star Stephanie Pratt this month (that is, before her DUI arrest), they asked her who she thought would be perfect for her character.  The New York Times bestseller LA Candy is based on Lauren Conrad's experiences filming her reality show.  This means there's got to be a fictionalized version of Pratt, right?

Anyway, the reality star revealed to the publication who she'd like to portray her on the big screen.  She had quite a number of celebrities in mind though, and it wasn't just the High School Musical star who could play the part.

"Whoever I'm gonna say, that actress is gonna kick my ass," Stephanie Pratt joked.  "I would probably say Queen Latifah.  I love her.  I really love her."

But since it's very unlikely that Queen Latifah would agree to act on LA Candy, the Hills star thought of other options.  "Someone more in my age... does that mean Christina Applegate is too old to play me too?  OK, Ashley Tisdale," she said.

Well, there's certainly quite a resemblance between the two given Ashley's return to the world of blondes.  But as for her experience with reality television, maybe she won't make a convincing Stephanie Pratt.

Still, it's an acting gig.  Since Aliens in the Attic pretty much bombed, we haven't heard of her movie projects.  Tisdale focused on her music career, but would she ever agree to portray a Pratt given the chance?
