MTV introduces a well-endowed teen comedy that gives a new meaning to growing up in high school. The Hard Times of RJ Berger is the story of young RJ, your typical misfit and geek. That is, unless someone pulls down his pants.
The Hard Times of RJ Berger is the network's first single-camera comedy, a sharp turn away from its usual reality TV shows and music videos. Many have deemed this new comedy as a younger version of HBO's Hung, wherein the lead character possesses an impressive "gift" that gets the ladies excited and the gents envious.
At first glance, there's nothing special about RJ Berger (Paul Iacono). If you consider his classic roster of sci-fi references, he's just an average geek. All of that changes though, when a bully pantses him in front of his entire class.
Soon, word spreads about his sizable asset and before he knows it, he's popular. His dream girl suddenly knows he's alive, he's being invited to tons of parties, and he might even have a shot at becoming school president.
But sometimes, he gets noticed for the wrong reasons. The jocks want to trample him and every other female is out to get him, including those he has no concern for. Even cougars are on his trail.
The Hard Times of RJ Berger
is "a loud, funny, raunchy, sexy look at the life of lovable loser," according to MTV. With that many adjectives in one sentence, it sounds like the show really is very high school. And we might as well arm ourselves with plenty of double entendres for this one.
This coming-of-age comedy was created by David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith. Also starring are Jareb Duplaise, Kara Taitz, Amber Lancaster, Jayson Blair, Beth Littleford, Shea Curry, and Cienna Rae. The Hard Times of RJ Berger
premieres on June 6 on MTV.
