The Good Wife season 4 continues on Sunday, November 25, with a special Thanksgiving-themed episode called "A Defense of Marriage." Guest star Stockard Channing joins the cast as Alicia's mom and it looks like she'll be bringing a lot of drama with her.
The Good Wife is available on Amazon Prime.
Poor Alicia. Wasn't it just a few episodes back that she commented that she felt like she was cursed? Of course that had to do with the press possibly finding out about her affair with Will, but I think there's a good chance she's going to be thinking those same kinds of thoughts in this episode. In the short preview clip we can see that Alicia's mom is quite a force to be reckoned with and isn't afraid to speak her mind. The funny thing is; as much as this probably bothers Alicia, I'm sure it's these qualities in her mom that made Alicia into the woman she is today. After all, neither of them is willing to take crap from anyone.
Here are a few more things we know from watching the video:
- Alicia's mom likes her daughter's hair long (jeesh, sounds like my mom).
- Alicia's ultra cool brother Owen will be joining the Thanksgiving festivities (and the motherly torture).
- Alicia's mom has been married a lot, because the men in her life either bore her or they die.
- Alicia and Peter appear to be growing closer and closer.
- Alicia's mom thinks that Peter should let Alicia go.
That's a whole lot of things to know in just 30 seconds. After watching this preview, I'm very excited to see what else is going to happen in this episode. Will Alicia's mom really be able to convince Peter to let Alicia go? From the looks of things, those two are starting to fall in love again and I sure hope momma won't change that.
The one thing this preview doesn't address is what happened with Cary in the last episode. We all saw him get beat up in the pouring rain, but we have no idea if he's okay or seriously hurt. Also, there is still the question on who did this to him and why. My money's on Kalinda's ex/current husband Nick and if it is him, I kind of hope that this will somehow lead to his permanent exit. Maybe Cary will retaliate or Kalinda will find out what Nick did and finally leave the bastard for hurting a friend. I know it's not very likely but hey, a girl can dream, right?
What did you think after watching the preview for this episode of The Good Wife? Do you think Alicia and the rest of the family will be able to have a happy Thanksgiving despite her mom's meddling? What are your thoughts on what happened to Cary?
