The Glee Project is going to get a big dose of star power this
summer. The Oxygen reality series, which began filming its second season
this week, will kick off with its biggest guest mentor yet:
Glee star Lea Michele.
The Emmy-nominated actress who plays Rachel Berry will help mentor the
new crop of hopefuls competing for a coveted 7-episode guest arc on
FOX's
Glee.
The first season of
The Glee Project featured a number of
Glee stars as guest mentors, including Darren Criss, Mark Salling, Ashley Fink, Kevin McHale, Harry Shum, Jr., Jena Ushkowitz, Idina Menzel, Dot-Marie Jones and Max Adler. The collection of notable supporting and guest stars was enough to make all the contestants squeal with delight, but getting the true star of the series to show up is a huge vote of confidence for
The Glee Project.
It should be no surprise, since the first season not only had two winners, but also featured the next two runners-up getting two-episode guest arcs on the show. Of course, winning
The Glee Project could mean a lot more than just seven episodes. Co-winner Damian McGinty is heading into his eighth episode this season and will continue to appear into the indefinite future.
The Glee Project season 2 will begin this summer on Oxygen.
