The rumor that season 5 may be the last for
The Girls Next Door just won't die. Last month, we reported that
Bridget Marquardt has landed a hosting gig on a travel show called
Bridget's Beaches, which is produced by Prometheus Entertainment, the same company responsible for
The Girls Next Door. Now, word on the street is that
Kendra Wilkinson will soon star on her own spin-off series.
This news doesn't really come as a big surprise considering the tension brewing inside the Playboy mansion, reportedly caused by
Hugh Hefner's number 1 girlfriend,
Holly Madison, who is enraging the rest of the stars of
The Girls Next Door by ruling the manor with an iron fist. And although the girls have denied the off-screen drama, it has unfortunately spawned rumors of the program's looming ending.
According to
In Touch Weekly, “Kendra Wilkinson has been offered her own reality show about starting her life over again when she moves out of the Playboy Mansion. Hugh Hefner knows her time is coming.”
In line with this, there have also been reports from multiple sources that Wilkinson might be moving out of the Playboy mansion after taping the fifth season of
The Girls Next Door, which is likely to be the program's last run.
Apart from
The Girls Next Door, Wilkinson has made several cameos on different programs such as
Las Vegas, Entourage and
Curb Your Enthusiasm. She has also showed her rapping abilities on MTV's
Celebrity Rap Superstar, where she landed second place after winner
Shar Jackson.
Meanwhile, fans of
The Girls Next Door can catch Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, and Kendra Wilkinson when the series returns for the fifth season this October. The new season will consist of 20 episodes, the first four of which will be packaged with the season 4 DVD set.
