Recent reports suggest that sex icon and Playboy editor-in-chief Hugh Hefner and Holly Madison, one of his girlfriends on the reality series The Girls Next Door, have sought fertility treatment in an effort to get pregnant.  On the other hand, the couple hasn't given up on having a child naturally.

Madison, who is also considered as Hefner's number one girlfriend, has never made it a secret that she would like to get married to the Playboy founder and eventually have a kid of her own.  However, she has never really confirmed their baby plans until now.

While a wedding may not yet be in the cards for Madison and Hefner, Madison reveals that they have been working hard for a tot.

“There has been lots of trying…lots of trying,” Madison told Us Magazine at Playboy's Ninth Annual Super Saturday Night bash in Arizona.

Hefner, on the other hand, has been tight-lipped about his plans to tie the knot for the third time. The 81-year-old sex icon has been married to Mildred Williams from 1949 to 1959, prior to his 10-year marriage to Kimberley Conrad, but considers his relationship with Madison as something that will last for forever.

"I love Holly the most.  Five or six years ago, she was simply one of seven girlfriends, but... I fell deeply in love with her.  She's the relationship that will last the rest of my life," Hefner said.

“There will certainly be a lot of romantic years ahead, but a wedding we will see,” Hefner told Us Magazine.

For now, 28-year-old Madison is looking forward to Valentine's Day, in which she hopes to receive the best present ever.

“My perfect Valentine's Day present would be a house and a kid," she said.

The Girls Next Doors airs every Sunday at 10pm on E!
