Bridget Marquardt isn't really looking back on her young life with fondness. Growing up, she was bullied by her peers and wasn't always as popular as she is now. The star of
The Girls Next Door, and one of the girlfriends of
Playboy tycoon
Hugh Hefner, had quite a lot to say about her experiences. While she's already faced quite a lot of challenges in the 35 years of her life, Bridget was actually mocked for her fashion sense as a teenager.
“I always dressed a little crazy and I wasn't popular at all. I really understand how that feels,” she admitted. Raised in California, she decided that she was going to take a different path in life. Marquardt earned her Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Cal U, Sacramento and pursued her studies even more. She earned a Master's in the same field from the University of the Pacific, while maintaining her fun and wild side.
She moved in with Hugh Hefner in his
Playboy mansion in 2002 as one of his girlfriends, and three years later worked with him in the reality series
The Girls Next Door. She did have a grand time being in the mansion, but she recently revealed that she was considering moving out.
“I don't know how much longer I'll be there. To be honest, I'm not even at the mansion that much at the moment anyway,” she said. Bridget is actually busy with her several appearances on other shows. She's been seen on HBO's
Entourage, and later on
Celebrity Paranormal Project and
The Man Show. She even hosted her own show for the Travel Channel, titled
Bridget's Sexiest Beaches.
In another interview, Bridget Marquardt divulged some of the projects she's lined up for in 2009. “I also have a movie that I produced and
Holly Madison and I starred in -- that will be coming out after the New Year,” she disclosed. “It is an anthology horror movie called
The Telling. It also seems there may be
The Girls Next Door Season 6.”
The
Playboy model also talked about her favorite times in the mansion. She says that she has so many great memories there, like “traveling, having the opportunity to shoot for the magazine” and that time when her little dog played dead and went “dogatonic.”
Having numerous experiences on
The Girls Next Door is something Bridget wouldn't give up for anything. “I have traded my private life for fame, but not on purpose. We had no idea how successful the show would be. At first it was just a fun opportunity. I don't mind that my private life is public -- I have nothing to hide, no skeletons, and I enjoy doing the show and the amazing opportunities that is has brought.”
