Hugh Hefner's number 1 girlfriend on
The Girls Next Door,
Holly Madison, has gradually penetrated the
Playboy circuit first as a model then eventually as an intern and later as a junior editor. Recently, she extended her
Playboy responsibilities a little bit more as she chose six talented beauties to appear exclusively on the men's magazine's website.
In line with
Playboy's 55th anniversary, the magazine launched a competition in April that invites hopeful models to post their videos on
Playboy's casting channel on YouTube. This marked
Playboy's first ever online talent search.
To enter the contest, women posted a two-minute, non-nude video response to Madison's digital invitation. Subsequently, the best videos appeared on Playboy.com where they were ranked by fans before the
Girls Next Door star and
Playboy's editorial team selected the winners, which consist of Jaime Bradford, Autumn Adele, LaToya Howard, Amy Lynn Grover, Mary Piemonte, and Ashton Verrengia.
These winners were awarded a trip to Los Angeles where they stayed at the infamous Playboy Mansion, which is also where
The Girls Next Door is being filmed. During their stay, they participated in a Playmate test shoot, a fashion pictorial featuring
Playboy's autumn/winter apparel collection, and a nude pictorial that will appear online. The test-shoot could result in one of the online winners being selected as a Playmate, possibly even the prized 55th Anniversary Playmate for
Playboy magazine's January 2009 issue.
Meanwhile, fans can catch Holly Madison on
The Girls Next Door when it returns for a fifth season. Airing on E!, the reality series that follows the lives of Hefner's three girlfriends. While the series centers on events at the Playboy Mansion, it also sheds light other
Playboy related events such as the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl, Playmate test shoots at Playboy Studio West, and Operation Playmate, just to name a few.
