In last week's episode, Callie watched as Girls United went up in flames and her friends were sent back to juvie. Back at home, Stef received a letter from Ana, Brandon almost kissed Lou and Jesus continued to ignore the obvious signs of Hayley's manipulations.

In this week's episode, "Leaky Faucets," the kids attend a festival where emotions run high and Mariana makes a decision about seeing Ana. Read on to find out if the ninth episode of The Fosters season 2 delivers the heart and heartache we have come to expect.

Wyatt, Stop Making Bad Decisions

Callie is seeing a therapist to help her deal with her recent panic attacks. Callie explains that the first one happened when she tried to have sex with Wyatt, so she connected it to the rape. However, Callie's therapist thinks it is more complicated than that. Since Callie was wrong about being able to trust Liam, she is doubting her own judgement, especially when it comes to letting herself be vulnerable with someone else. Callie's therapist tells her to trust her instincts when it comes to Wyatt and not doubt him unless he gives her a reason to.

Callie decides to go to the street festival with Brandon and Lou in an attempt to get over her panic attacks. She does not want to be around the crowds, but she invites Wyatt to come with her because she trusts him to keep her safe. That plan goes well for a while, but then Wyatt spots Liam at the festival.

Instead of getting Callie out of there like Brandon suggests, Wyatt decides to go after Liam. The three boys end up in a fight and Callie witnesses the whole thing. Wyatt tries to explain that he was only trying to protect Callie, but she tells him that she needed him to be with her that day. Callie knows Wyatt was only trying to look after her, but she is not sure she can trust him anymore.

While I understand that Wyatt only wanted to help Callie, he went about it all wrong. Callie does not need anyone to fight her battles for her. She needs someone to support her, not leave her alone while he heads off to play the white knight. Wyatt, you need to do better, dude.

Mat Helps Mariana Get Past Her Anger

Mat and Mariana also attend the festival, but Mariana is not happy about it. The festival is a Mexican street festival so Mariana thinks Mat only brought her there because she's Latin. Mariana spends the rest of the day being horrible to him, and poor Mat has no idea why.

Mariana's day gets worse when she runs into Mike and Ana at the festival. Ana tries to talk to Mariana, but she has no interest in hearing more of Ana's lies. Fresh off seeing her biological mother, Mat asks Mariana what is wrong and she lays into him. Mat then asks her who the woman was she got into an argument with and Mariana tells him about Ana and so much more.

Through her conversation with Mat, we finally start to understand why Mariana is trying to distance herself from her Latin heritage. Mariana says that her only connection to that part of herself is Ana and she hates Ana. Seeing anything representative of her culture reminds her of the woman who hurt her family so badly. Mat opens up to Mariana about his own family and they end their date on a good note.

When Mariana gets home later that night, she asks Stef about the letter Ana sent. Stef admits that she received Ana's letter and Mariana says she wants to see Ana again, much to Stef's dismay.

Stef Lets Go

Stef has the day off and does not know what to do with herself. She video-chats with Lena and Lena suggests she try meditation. Stef just laughs at her because anyone who has spent a moment in Stef's company knows she is not the meditating type. Instead of relaxing and enjoying her time alone, Stef decides to fix the leaky sink. The only problem is that Stef has no idea how to do this and she just makes things worse. Teri Polo's face is extraordinary as she tries and fails to fix the sink.

But as hilarious as these scenes are, they lead to something much deeper. When Stef tries to clean up the mess she has made, she finds something they bought for the baby. Stef breaks down, finally letting herself grieve for her daughter. Lena, like the angel she is, calls at that exact moment and Stef tells her that she misses the baby. Lena knows exactly how Stef feels and she stays on the phone with Stef while she cries.

Later that night, Stef comforts Callie. Stef tells her that they are a lot alike so Stef understands where Callie is coming from. Stef knows that Callie thinks she has to be strong and just move past her pain, but Stef has learned first-hand that sometimes you have to let yourself fall apart and there is no shame in that. I always love when the show touches on the similarities between Stef and Callie and how those similarities strengthen their relationship.

Other Happenings

-- Jesus is still trying to prove himself to Hayley so he takes her to the festival, but Hayley gets upset when she realizes Jesus got the idea from Brandon. So Jesus decides to get a tattoo of Hayley's name in order to prove that he really cares about her. Jesus, you are starting to rival Brandon in the bad decision department.

-- Speaking of Brandon, Lou takes Brandon to the festival as a way to spend more time with him. They bond some more over music, but Brandon keeps pulling away whenever they get close. Eventually, Brandon explains that he likes Lou but he is going through something, and Lou seems to understand.

-- Mike spends most of the episode with Ana. They have gotten to the amends part of their program and they both have long lists of people to make amends to. So when they run into Mariana at the festival, Mike asks Mariana to hear Ana out. Mike, you have no business getting involved in this. Please focus on your own life and leave Stef and Lena to parent their kids.

What did you think of this week's episode of The Fosters? Do you think Callie should forgive Wyatt for going after Liam? Are you glad Mat and Mariana worked things out? What do you think will happen during next week's summer finale? And how great was Teri Polo in those sink repair scenes? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
