On The Following, Joe has escaped from prison and was reunited with his son, Joey. Now, on "Welcome Home," he's free to pursue the rest of his plan with his cult of Followers. What will he do next? Meanwhile, the FBI shakes up its investigation to find and stop Joe.

With the FBI's failure in the Joe Carroll case, Nick Donovan is assigned from Quantico to lead the investigation to track down Joe, Joey, and the Followers. He and Ryan butt heads immediately about how to handle the case.

With Followers seemingly everywhere, it only makes sense that there would be at least one mole within the FBI. And, since Charlie was assigned to be Claire's Follower, why wouldn't Joe's muse have one as well.
If Ryan has a Follower, Mike would be the perfect candidate since he has long followed the former FBI agent's career, but it seems unlikely. And, in "Welcome Home," we may get more insight into this possibility.
In the below clip, Mike takes a break from the case and is nervously watching his back. Would he be so concerned about Followers if he was one himself? Or, is it because he's a Follower that he's so nervous?
It must be extremely nerve-wracking to suspect anyone and everyone.
With Joe out of prison and in the Follower house, he finally gets to meet everyone who's there to support him. Joe looks a little surprised by the turn out. His son may not have greeted him warmly, but he certainly isn't lacking in love from others.
