Paul Blackthorne was born on March 5, 1969. He got his first break when he appeared in a television commercial in the UK as The Grim Reaper for Virgin Atlantic. This was followed by several radio commercials and eventually a spot in the movie industry. He starred in movies such as Lagaan, Mindcrime and Four Corners of Suburbia. His other television credits included Medium, 24, ER, Peak Practice and Monk. Ultimately, he leads the series The Dresden Files as Harry Dresden. Harry Dresden is a private eye who resides in Chicago. He also has supernatural powers which make him the only professional wizard in the city. His mother, also a powerful wizard, died while giving birth to him. He was raised by his father, a stage magician, until his father died when he was six years old.
