Kandyse McClure as Anastasia Dualla

Kandyse McClure was born in 1980 in South Africa, and her initial claim to fame was her roles on the Fox drama, Higher Ground, where she starred alongside Hayden Christensen, and on the NBC daytime series Just Deal. She has also been known for her work on the made-for-tv movie In a Class of His Own, where she acted opposite Lou Diamond Phillips. From there, she landed the recurring role of Elizabeth Munroe on the drama series, Jeremiah, and made guest appearances on other television shows like Level 9, The Outer Limits, Mysterious Ways, Dark Angel, The Twilight Zone, Andromeda, Jake 2.0, Smallville, Whistler and Da Vinci’s Inquest. Additionally, her portrayal of Sue Snell on the television adaptation of Carrie was highly praised by numerous newspaper critics.

In 2004, she landed the role of Petty Officer Anastacia Dualla on the re-imagined sci-fi series, Battlestar Galactica. Although McClure’s character was not featured in the original series, she was made a regular cast member during the third season of the show.

Her film credits include Romeo Must Die, 2gether, The Spiral Staircase, See Spot Run, Passion and Prejudice, Santa Baby, Return to the Cabin by the Lake, LA Law: The Movie, Framed and Hollywood Wives: The New Generation.

In talking about the development of her career, McClure said, "Amazing things keep happening… I got the part with Lou Diamond Phillips (in In a Class of His Own) on my first audition ever. The part was written for a guy but the director changed it for me. And then I got a TV series, Higher Ground. It was like I took the Concorde. And with Just Deal, I auditioned for two episodes and it turned into seven months… I never expect this is what I'm always going to do… I'm always preparing for a regular life.” At present, McClure resides in Vancouver, Canada.
