Larry Wilmore is a comedian, writer and TV producer who was born in 1962. He has worked in the realm of television for over three decades, mainly as a writer for shows. Among the programs that he has contributed to are Into the Night with Rick Dess, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Office, and In Living Color. Wilmore was responsible for helping create shows such as The PJs and The Bernie Mac Show. He has even made appearances in Sister, Sister and The Facts of Life. Back in March 2006, it was stated by The Hollywood Reporter that Wilmore was set to star in a major on-camera role with Christine Baranski and Ed O'Neill. The nameless comedy pilot did not push through, however.

Later on, Wilmore was hired by the ABC network to help plot out a half-hour pilot episode for Cedric the Entertainer, yet his script was not approved and the project likewise did not continue. He has worked on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart since 2006, where he is the designated Senior Black Correspondent and featured in the segment “Wilmore-Oliver Investigates.” Wilmore was also called the Senior Mexican Correspondent at one point. He is the older brother of Marc Wilmore, who like him is also a producer and writer. Larry has won an Emmy Award, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, thanks to his work on The Bernie Mac Show.
