John Kellogg Hodgman is a humorist and author who was born on June 1971 in Brookline, Massachusetts. During his early formative years, he was a student at Heath School and Brookline High School. He also learned how to perform with the clarinet at the All Newton Music School located in West Newton, Massachusetts. Hodgman would eventually go on to pursue higher learning at Yale University, and graduated from there in 1994. Before he started to become well-known as a writer, he was a literary agent for Writers House in New York City, and he was associated with the likes of actor Bruce Campbell, Darren Strauss, and Deborah Digges.
He is most well-known for participating in Apple's “Get a Mac” campaign, wherein he played the personification of a stodgy PC compared to a cooler Mac. Hodgman has also written for publications such as The New York Times Magazine, McSweeney's Quarterly Concern, and The Paris Review. His contributions have been featured in Public Radio International's This American Life, as well as the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Wiretap. He is likewise the author of a book titled "The Areas of My Expertise," which was published in 2005. Other television productions he has worked on are Attack of the Show and
