Stephen Colbert's I Am America (And So Can You!)It's been almost five months since “I Am America (And So Can You!),” a book written by The Colbert Report host Stephen Colbert and writers from the show, was released, but the satirical piece is still going strong in the New York Times Best-Seller List.

In the recent list released by the New York Times, the book takes the number 6 spot in the top ten for hardcover nonfiction, ahead of such other popular releases as "An Inconvenient Book" by Glenn Beck and Kevin Balfe, "Real Change" by Newt Gingrich with Vince Haley and Rick Tyler, "God's Problem" by Bart D. Ehrman and "Manic" by Terri Cheney.

Additionally, since its October release, "I Am America" has ranked number one on the best-seller list for fourteen nonconsecutive weeks.

"I Am America," published by Grand Central, is deemed as an extension of The Colbert Report, as it delves into the views of Colbert's onscreen persona and what he considers to be the most pressing issues facing the country today.  The book is somewhat influenced by the literature of Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity, political pundits who are often used as models on the show.

The book contains “240 pages of genius. With pictures,” so the book's official website proudly claims.  It has three main parts – "My American Childhood," "My American Adolescence" and "My American Maturity" – with each part containing various chapters.  On the cover is a sticker of a seal with a burning book in the center.  The seal declares that the book is the winner of "The Stephen T. Colbert Award for Literary Excellence."

The audio version of the book features Colbert as himself and as Gil Honeycomb, the oldest man in the world, and other personalities such as actress-comedienne Amy Sedaris (My Name is Earl, Rescue Me, Monk), Brian Stack (30 Rock), and Jon Stewart, host of the The Colbert Report's parent series, The Daily Show.
