Those who at least had a sneak peek at the fourth season premiere of
The Closer all agreed on one thing: if you're a fan of
The Closer, you are going to absolutely go crazy over the premiere. As if that wasn't enough motivation to watch the TNT drama, an old foe of Brenda Lei Johnson, who is superbly played by
Kyra Sedgwick, is said to be doing a return.
If last season looked closely at Brenda and Fritz Howard (
Jon Tenney) as they moved forward with their engagement, which entailed revealing the good news to Brenda's family and searching for a new house,
The Closer's fourth season is said to bring back the comfort in the series, as the team is back together.

Excellent premiere episode! As usual, Brenda is as scattered in her personal life as she is brilliant in h...
Warning: Minor spoilers ahead.
Earlier reports about this season revealed that “Brenda will track an arsonist, while a reporter tracks her every move.”
The Closer fans are in for a nice surprise as this will turn out to be a huge euphemism / understatement for the shape of things to come. The fiery premiere will kick off with a wildfire in Griffith Park. So huge that it takes four lives and now threatens to raze parts of Los Angeles, Glendale and Burbank. Yes, this is Brenda's latest crime scene, which, on all accounts, is a nice case to get things moving. Obviously, it's not what it is originally though, as bodies have been burned beyond recognition. It thus turns into a homicide investigation.
According to some, the opening scenes of
The Closer are crucial as they already reflect the theme of the rest of the season, i.e., Brenda's life and the illusory control she seems to have over it. The reporter part is also true. In an effort to improve the strained relations between the press and the LAPD, to which Brenda belongs, the chief allowed an LA Times reporter to follow her investigation. Predictably, it is not the most amicable of relationships.
If critics are to be believed, every second of
The Closer's season 4 premiere is a joy.
