The Closer: Previewing Season 5 Summer Finale "Waivers of Extradition"
Monday, August 24, 2009
Things seem set to go boom on tonight's episode of The Closer--its summer finale, I may add, giving everyone a break before the series wraps up its season later in the year--and perhaps for bigger reasons.
Detail one: the MCD investigate the murder of a woman who was apparently stabbed by a person wearing a ninja outfit, which in itself already sounds weird. Of course, that means the crime is bigger than it actually is--sounds like a method of sorts--and turns out that it is. As the team investigates, a detective all the way from Texas, who's tackled a similar case in El Paso, comes by and helps in the investigation, but with a different motive: to bring the killer back to Texas and have that chap face the death penalty.
Detail two: the home front isn't looking better for Brenda, either. Her not-so-wonderful (but not-so-hostile) relationship with her father Clay turns another page when he returns to pick up her niece Charlie--and take her back home to Atlanta. With a lot of things already going for Brenda, there's the question of whether she'd be able to cope with a slightly quiet home life--and I mean the word "slightly".
Xander Berkeley guest stars as that Texan detective bent on the death penalty, on tonight's episode of The Closer, from 9pm tonight on TNT.
