Hearts will race in many ways on the upcoming episode of The Closer, as Brenda and the gang will draw the season a close with the finale, “Time Bomb.”  Airing tonight, another case is left to solve and it seems to be one of the squad's most dangerous yet. 

“Time Bomb” features Brenda's newly-renamed Major Crimes Division, or the MCD, investigating the death of a teenager.  This is no ordinary homicide, as the adolescent's demise might be linked to a highly organized plan to slaughter hundreds of innocents.  While the teen's death is still being studied, the crew has to deal with an even worse problem.  They have to beat the clock in order to track down a bomb before it can explode.  Through Brenda (Kyra Sedgwick) and her recklessly effective acts of heroism, the team is reminded that being on the LAPD can sometimes be a road to immense peril. 

The big season finale will feature an array of guest stars, which include Ransford Doherty, Cody McMains, Bobby Hosea, Hugh Scott, Steven Sowan, and Sandra Nelson.  The excitement for the finale was built up last week, when audiences were treated to the ninth episode, titled “Tijuana Brass.”  This complicated tale highlighted the involvement of an FBI informant in the death of two Tijuana police officers.  As the tension was established, there's no doubt that tonight's episode will cause viewers to hold their breaths.

Last episode ended with Fritz (Jon Tenney) telling Brenda to set a date for the wedding.  his heightened the interest for the series' season finale, when the two will work together once again. 

After tonight, The Closer will return next year, premiering with “Good Faith” on January 15.  One listed guest star is Lance Irwin, who will be portraying the character Ed Crawford.  No information about the episode has been released yet, but it's sure to be a praiseworthy comeback for Brenda and her team.

The Closer's “Time Bomb,” the tenth episode in the season, will premiere tonight, September 15, on TNT at 9pm.
