Jon Tenney Biography:

A Native of New Jersey, John Tenney pursued his passion for acting by first acquiring a degree in drama and philosophy from Vassar College. He also attended the prestigious Juilliard School, but dropped out to join the tour of the Real Thing, which was under the direction of Mike Nicholls. Acting in the said play proved to be rewarding as he was thereafter given major roles in the plays Tartuffe and Romeo and Juliet. Conquering the stage with over 150 plays, Tenney has also done great work for television, starting with a guest role in Murphy Brown, and moving on to better roles in the shows Crime and Punishment and The Dirty Dozen: The Series and guest appearances in Will and Grace and Without A Trace. His recent title role is for the TNT drama, The Closer.

FBI Special Agent Fritz Howard, on the hit television series The Closer, is played by Jon Tenney. Howard is very strong and determined, and he treats his peers and colleagues well. He is extremely well-connected, which helps greatly in solving cases and in putting criminals behind bars. Although he is intelligent, he seems to lose control when he is with Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson, as they share an intimate relationship, and soon an apartment as well.
