J.K. Simmons Biography:
J.K. Simmons has done what no other actor has done before, and that is to appear in three of the four Law & Order television series (
Law & Order ,
Law & Order: SVU ,
Law & Order: Criminal Intent ) as police psychiatrist Dr. Emil Skoda. But this unique achievement is not only Simmons claim to fame. He has also starred in many other highly-watched programs such as Arrested Development,
Nip/Tuck and Oz. On the big screen, most people may remember him as Peter Parker’s unreasonable newspaper editor J. Jonah Jameson in the Spiderman movies. Simmons can also be seen- or rather heard- in the M&M’s commercials, as he is the voice of yellow M&M. Other notable perfomances include his works on stage for the broadway shows Guys and Dolls, Laughter on the 23rd Floor and Peter Pan. In 2005, he was made a regular cast member on TNT’s drama series The Closer.

Being the Assistant Police Chief of the LAPD, it is his job to make sure that everyone else is doing their job. He is quick to defend his men, but is just as quick to do something that he feels may benefit his career. He has worked tirelessly to earn the respect of his detectives, and earn it he has. He is strong and tough, but a past affair with Captain Brenda Leigh Johnson makes him weak and partial to her.
