Corey Reynolds Biography:

Corey Reynolds moved away from his hometown of Richmond, Virginia in 1996 in the hopes of jumpstarting his acting career. He ended up in California where he joined the cast of the revue Smokey Joe’s Café and Saturday Night Fever. He then tried his luck in New York City, where he auditioned to become a part of the Hairspray ensemble. He was turned down after three readings and was offered the role of Seaweed instead. Ironically enough, it was this role that earned him Tony and Desk Drama award nominations for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical. Although Reynolds loves the theater the most, he has done projects on both the big and small screens. His first movie appearance was in The Terminal, followed by a supporting role in Partners. On television, Reynolds has starred in hit shows like Without a Trace, The Guardian and is currently appearing in the TNT drama, The Closer.

Detective David Gabriel, who is played by Corey Reynolds on the series The Closer, is a detective sergeant and a member of the Priority Homicide Squad. He is very intelligent and ambitious and is quick to do something that he knows will please his boss, Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson. He is very orderly and highly structured when carrying out his tasks. He is, pretty much, the “nice guy” in the squad, but his niceness and eagerness to please is often perceived as “brown-nosing” by his fellow detectives.
