When The Closer returns for a fourth season next month, the crime drama series will be featuring a bunch of guest stars to look forward to.  One of which is Paul Michael Glaser, who has been tapped to appear in the second episode of the season airing July 21.

Glaser is best known for his role as Detective David Starsky on the '70s television series Starsky and Hutch. He has also been cast as Captain Jack Steeper on the NBC series Third Watch and has most recently appeared in the film Live! and telepic Faceless.  Behind the cameras, he has served as a director to Las Vegas, Miami Vice and The Agency, just to name a few.

Warning: May contain spoilers.

According to TV Guide, Glaser will be featured in a storyline that centers on a murderer of the daughter of a wealthy producer who is recently paroled after ten years of prison.  The episode is called "Speed Bumps" and finds the paroled murderer dead in an alley after his victim's parents initiated a campaign of harassment against him.  As expected, Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson and her team investigate the girl's parents as their primary suspects.  Glaser is set to play the dad, while Amy Aquino, known for her role as Dr. Janet Coburn on ER, plays the mom.

Created by James Duff, The Closer stars Kyra Sedgwick as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, an intelligent woman who has powerful skills to determine the facts of a crime, compel confessions, and close cases.  Since the beginning of the series, The Closer has explored the cases of Johnson, who heads up a special unit of the LAPD that handles sensitive, high-profile murder cases (Priority Homicide Division).

The Closer also stars Corey Reynolds as David Gabriel, G.W. Bailey as Lt. Provenza, Gina Ravera as Irene Daniel, J.K. Simmons as Will Pope, Jon Tenney as Fritz Howard, Michael Paul Chan as Mike Tao, Raymond Cruz as Julio Sanchez, Robert Gossett as Commander Taylor, and Tony Denison as Andy Flynn.
