Born in New Jersey, Jon Tenney studied at Vassar College with a degree in drama and philosophy. In addition, he also attended Julliard School. Eventually, he left school and joined the tour of the play
The Real Thing. This was followed by more theater projects like
Romeo and Juliet and
Tartuffe among others. His pursuit of acting proved to be very rewarding as his worked spanned more than 150 plays to date. Apart from theater, he also graced the television loop with appearances on shows like
Murphy Brown, Will and Grace, Crime and Punishment and
Without A Trace.
Tenney plays FBI Special Agent Fritz Howard on the crime drama
The Closer. He depicts a character that appears to be very professional and passionate about his work, yet loses control when it comes to his love interest, Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson. Smart and very amiable, he makes the show appealing and intriguing.
