The Golden Globe nominations were revealed this morning, and on the TV
side, returning dramas ruled while new comedies pushed old favorites
aside.
Glee claims to top spot with four nominations, for Best
Comedy Series as well as individual nominations for stars Matthew
Morrison, Lea Michele and Jane Lynch.
The Comedy acting categories also saw a ton of fresh blood with new Showtime and HBO stars earning nominations. For Dramas, the field is once again dominated by cable with HBO's
Big Love, FX's
Damages and Showtime's
Dexter all scoring multiple nominations.
DRAMABig Love

Mad Men
True Blood-Nothing huge or surprising here, except maybe how the rather dull
Big Love keeps getting nominated while FX dramas like
Damages and
Sons of Anarchy are ignored.

Modern Family
The Office-While Glee swept the morning, the real winner is
Modern Family, a smart and very funny show that managed to get in without all the hip, cool buzz of
Glee.

Hung, sidelining many old favorites like Charlie Sheen or Tony Shalhoub.

Glee-The newest category, Tina Fey is defending against four new stars, including two Showtime ladies, an ex-
Friend and one hell of a voice.
SUPPORTING ACTORJohn Lithgow,

How I Met Your MotherJeremy Piven,
EntourageWilliam Hurt,
Damages-The supporting categories at the Golden Globes combine drama, comedy and miniseries, so I'm excited that only TV shows made it. While Piven is out of fashion these days, Lithgow was breathtaking.
SUPPORTING ACTRESSJane Lynch,

Into the Storm-All that really matters is that Jane Lynch, who gave the funniest performance of the year as Sue Sylvester on
Glee, is nominated.
