It seems as though actor
Isaiah Washington has decided to clean up his act, as he returns on television screens for a guest appearance on
The Cleaner. Leaving the set of
Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Preston Burke, the actor has been cast on tonight's episode of the A&E show. “The Eleventh Hour” will premiere at 10pm, with Washington crossing swords with
Benjamin Bratt's character, William Banks.
According to the network, Isaiah Washington will be portraying a traditional and well-schooled interventionist that will cause a slew of worries for
The Cleaner's title character. Both of them attempt to treat the same girl, and a dramatic series of conflicts ensues. It all begins with an unsuccessful attempt to minister to this heroin-addicted woman, leading William to fly in with his unorthodox methods. Washington's character dismisses him as no more than a thug, and the both of them end up opposing each other's ways.
“The Eleventh Hour” will also force William Banks to question the motives he has for his deeds, from his transformation as a former drug addict into an eccentric interventionist. He has to once again race to find the fleeing victim, before she winds up turning to her addiction. Joining Washington as guest star on the episode is Kathy Baker, known for her stint on the legal drama
Boston Public.
A&E's
The Cleaner marks one of Washington's first few TV appearances since his controversial departure from
Grey's Anatomy. After the press-heavy incident on the set and his public apology, Washington moved on to take part in NBC's short-lived
Bionic Woman. He has also filmed the independent feature
The Least of These, portraying the character Father Andre James in the dramatic thriller.
Now, Isaiah Washington joins Benjamin Bratt, Amy Price-Francis, Liliana Mumy,
Grace Park and
Esteban Powell in the drama series
The Cleaner, tonight at 10pm. “The Eleventh Hour” will be followed by the episode “To Catch a Fed,” airing next week.
