The Cheetah Girls should have learned by now that every action has its consequences. Thanks to
Adrienne Bailon's fraudulent nude photo scandal, the pop trio has been uninvited from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. They were supposedly going to perform in New York as part of the lineup, which will be headlined by their fellow Disney star,
Miley Cyrus.
Stories circulated around Perezhilton.com, revealing that
The Cheetah Girls won't be appearing on the November 25 occasion. Many have connected the dots on the issue, thinking it was Bailon's involvement in the publicity stunt that caused it. The 25-year-old singer/actress made headlines last week for claiming that nude shots of her had been leaked online without her permission. It was later divulged that everything was a hoax, leading the stars to fire the publicist who cooked up the plan. It did boost the star's popularity rate, but it cost them their spot on the big parade.
One insider from the Macy's event said that “scheduling issues” was the reason for
The Cheetah Girls' absence from the spectacle. It appears as though the group has a tour stop in Pittsburgh, PA the day before Thanksgiving, and is headed to Columbus, Ohio on the day after. “Performer confirmations are always fluid and subject to change,” the rep added. This only raises more eyebrows, as the girls' schedule is wide open on the day itself.
Contradicting the previous statement is the word of another source from the Thanksgiving Day Parade. “The girls were scheduled to be in the parade and perform, but after Adrienne's recent photo incident, organizers didn't think it would be appropriate to have her at a family-oriented event.”
No matter who you believe,
The Cheetah Girls will not be performing for Macy's this Thanksgiving. Fans attending the event will instead have to settle for Miley, who actually had a brush with her own semi-nude photos a while back.
