Ronn Montague Moss was born on March 4, 1952 in Los Angeles, California where he was also raised. He grew up listening to rock and roll, and by the time he was eleven, he was playing the drums, guitar and electric bass. In 1976, he joined singer/guitarist Peter Beckett, guitarist/keyboardist J.C Crowley and drummer John Friesen, with whom he formed the band Player and played bass for. They later attracted the attention of music impresario Robert Stigwood, who signed them to his RSO Records. Their first single as a group was released in 1978. Moss started acting in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1987, he was given the role of Ridge Forrester on the soap opera
The Bold and the Beautiful. He was married once to Shari Shattuck, an actress appearing on another soap opera,
The Young and the Restless. Their marriage lasted for twelve years and ended in 2002.

The Bold and the Beautiful. Ridge is the eldest and most favorite son of Eric and Stephanie Forrester, co-founders of Forrester Creations. He has four younger siblings, Nick, Thorne, Kristen and Felicia. He was a playboy who initially fell in love with Caroline Spencer whom he was about to marry. However, Caroline's father disliked him that he hired a woman to get him drunk and sleep with him before his wedding. Brooke Logan, a close friend of his, tried to talk Caroline into marrying him but after a few attempts, Brooke and Ridge fell in love. She later had his baby even if Caroline's psychiatrist, Dr. Taylor Hayes stole him from her.
