Eileen Davidson was born on June 15, 1959 in Artesia, California. Her career was launched in Mexico City where she became a model, eventually appearing in commercials and print work in Europe. It was then when she took acting classes and auditioned for acting roles. In 1982 she was cast for the role of Ashley Abbott on
The Young and the Restless, among a hundred more contenders. After seven years she left the show to star in a primetime show,
Broken Badges which lasted only for two years. She then returned to daytime, appearing on Santa Barbara. In 1993 she was cast for a role in the soap opera
Days of Our Lives, where she played multiple roles. She took a breather after this show and reappeared in
The Young and the Restless in 1999. Eight years later, her she appeared as Ashley Abbott in another soap opera,
The Bold and the Beautiful. Davidson had married three times since 1985. Her first husband was Christopher Mayer whom she divorced after a year of their marriage. She was then romantically involved with Jon Voight but did not marry. Her second husband was Jon Linstrom. They were married for three years until she met Vince Van Patten who soon became her third husband.

The Bold and the Beautiful. Ashley is the strong-willed eldest daughter of the late John Abbott, who was the late Jabot Cosmetics tycoon. She has three siblings, Jack, Traci and Billy. Ashley was also fiercely protective of her family, especially with her daughter Abby. She also had many relationships with different men, Rick Forrester, Victor Newman, and Ridge Forrester among them.
