Michael Stahl-David is an American actor born on August 27, 1982 in Chicago Illinois. He graduated from Lincoln Park High School in 2001, and has attained a satisfying level of success in the entertainment industry. Before he worked on both film and television, he became involved in theater work. He graduated from Columbia College in Chicago with a degree in theatre arts. Prior to his acting career, Stahl-David also became a renowned graffiti artist. He discussed this in an interview with the Chicago Sun Times. He had also considered becoming a history teacher before getting he set his sights back on acting. He got an invitation to join Steppenwolf Theatre’s summer training program and accepted it. There, he took improv classes with Sheldon, the cousin of actor Mandy Patinkin.
Michael Stahl-David had acted in Steppenwolf, Victory Gardens and the Goodman, in plays like Albee’s The Goat or Who is Sylvia? In 2001, was in the drama film New Port South, where he played the character Rosetti, one of the students who tries hard to overturn their school’s unreasonable administration. He achieved more breakthroughs in his career while being in his mid-twenties. In addition, he was given a minor role in the 2003 comedy/drama flick Uncle Nino, where he took on the role of Craig. For television, he has scored a major role on NBC television series, The Black Donnellys in 2007. He plays Sean Donnelly, who grows resentful of his brothers’ discouraging remarks towards him because he is the youngest. His character is also that of a ladies man. Earlier that year, Stahl-David made a guest appearance on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. He was in the episode “Players” and portrayed the character Riordan Grady. In 2008, he was cast in the science fiction film Cloverfield as Robert Hawkins. For his performance in the Matt Reeves film, he earned a Teen Choice Award nomination for Choice Movie Actor in a horror/thriller movie.
