Kirk Acevedo's Biography:
Born on November 27, 1974 in Brooklyn, New York, Kirk Acevedo attended school at the Bronx. He has always been interested in acting and would put on small shows for his family when he was younger. While in LaGuardia High School for Performing Arts, he joined and acted with the drama club. After graduation, he went on to study at the SUNY Purchase School of Acting, where he obtained his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree. Upon the encouragement of his classmates, Acevedo tried out for the television series Oz and landed the part of Miguel Alvarez. The role earned him 4 ALMA award nominations and his work on the Thin Red Line won him the said award in 1999. His other television credits include Law & Order: Trial by Jury and Band of Brothers. His current role is on the NBC television series The Black Donnellys.
Nicky Cottero on the show The Black Donnellys is portrayed by Kirk Acevedo. Nicky is Sal Minetta’s right-hand man. When the mob boss is abducted by Jimmy and Kevin Donnelly, Nicky decides to go after the brothers himself.
