These days, it's not just enough to have a hit television show. It'll want to tout the show's biggest stars on every radio morning show, magazine, and website that you can get them featured on. If a show can get its stars at conventions, even better. A show needs to release DVDs with bonus material like deleted scenes, outtakes, and behind the scenes interviews. They have the pressure of releasing webisodes, podcasts, mobile and video games, books, and any other form of media to promote their show.
The Biggest Loser is no exception to this. Now in its 6th season, the show has come up with new ways to reach out to their fans and have them continue on a path to a healthier and happier life.
The Biggest Loser will premiere on Tuesday, September 16th at 8pm, but the show doesn't stop there. When fans sign up for
The Biggest Loser Club on the show's official website, they will have the option of adding a mobile application. The program will send shopping lists, recipes, and customized diet and exercise plans right to their cell phone. NBC and
The Biggest Loser will also team up with Rodale, to publish two books in addition a cookbook they previously released together.
"We are pleased to continue our partnership with Reveille and NBC to expand
The Biggest Loser's assets to additional media platforms and revenue streams," said Gregg Michaelson, Executive Vice President, Customer Marketing, Rodale. "As a health and wellness media company, Rodale is always looking to work with partners who share our mission of promoting healthy living and embrace innovative ways of delivering content. Reveille has been such a partner for the past three years, and this season holds even more great opportunities for both of us than ever before."
This season,
The Biggest Loser will also see guest appearances from various health experts such as Men's Health Editor-in-Chief David Zinczenko and Prevention Nutrition Director Cynthia Sas. Finally, the show will also feature updates on previous contestants during each episode.
For its sixth season, the show is featuring a families edition, with half the teams competing coming from parent-child relationships and the other from husband-wife relationships.
Which will you be most likely to purchase?
