Every season of The Biggest Loser
is slightly different than the one before. This season, the theme is "second chances". The contestants have an opportunity to take their experience on the ranch as a second chance at life. Because let's face it, when you're still relatively young and pushing 300 or 400 lbs, the life ahead of you will not be a very long one unless drastic changes are made.
The start of the season will have each contestant wearing their starting weight on the front of their shirt. This will serve as a constant reminder and a source of motivation to take full advantage of the second chance opportunity they've been given.

Nobody reaches obesity without a reason behind it. And part of the process at The Biggest Loser
Ranch is to uncover those reasons. Some of them lie deep within, to the point where the contestants might not even be conscious of it. They've all tried fad diets in the past, all of which have obviously failed to work long-term. Even though they have just arrived at the ranch, you can tell by the interviews below that they already understand the importance of seeing their weight loss transformations as a work in progress and as a lifestyle choice, not a quick fix.

And last, but certainly not least, is American Idol winner Ruben Studdard
Really examining the reasons behind the weight gain seems to be the only thing these contestants haven't tried. And most of the contestants have been looking for not only quick fixes for the weight loss, but also only quick meals. What's the quickest way to get what I need? Even if it's unhealthy. I think Ruben says it best, "Anything good for you, you can't get fast. That's the hardest thing for a lot of us here to learn is just how to really take that beat and take care of yourself."
The trainers are very excited for season 15. They each had a lot of involvement in the casting process, a first for the show. And they each have a trainer save this year. Which means that if someone on their team is voted off, they have the chance to save that person and keep them around for another week. They can only use the save once.
