'The Biggest Loser' Review: Look At How Much You've Changed!
'The Biggest Loser' Review: Look At How Much You've Changed!
Five contestants remain on The Biggest Loser, and we're just that close to knowing who will win the whole thing--and by that, we mean the person who wins the cash, because we all know everyone leaves with better health and a better life, more or less. But, as we all know, the next couple of weeks is still a long way to go, with a couple more eliminations, a lot more pounds, and whatever else happens in between. You get the idea.

Workout begins, and Amanda's worried that she'll be the next eliminated, since the rest of the contestants--Allen, Danny, Liz and (sinister music!) Rudy--are voting together. But it was nice seeing the trainers compare all the contestants, from the day they entered the ranch, to the present. You know, from struggling in the treadmill to just breezing through them.

Visiting the ranch this week is Suze Orman, also known as one of the hosts on CNBC. Yes, cross-promotion, yes, although we all know who she is, right? Anyway, she dropped by to tell the contestants about the connection between your health and your wealth. Like, say, being obsess forces you to spend more on life insurance, because companies charge higher premiums when you weigh over a certain limit. Now that's something really straight from the newspapers. After a quiz, and a few more factoids ($4 billion on gastic surgery every year?) there's the customary plug, where Suze talks to the ranchers more. I told you. Cross-promotion.

After Jillian and Bob talk to the contestants, with Bob going all aww-shucks on Amanda, they get on this week's challenge. Rod Woodson, NFL player and Hall of Famer, is stopping by to cheer them on. The contestants, this time, deal with all the weight they've lost, literally: they have to carry footballs, weighing the equivalent of all the weight they've lost, across the field and dump them at the end. The challenge was, of course, much easier now than before--the comparisons earlier, yeah!--and Allen breezed through it, winning for himself a trip to next year's Pro Bowl in Miami, as well as $5,000 worth of gym equipment. He chooses to donate it to his daughter's school.

And then, a pretty cute moment: Danny singing a song about weight loss. It's a good song, but it sounds a bit, you know, cheesy, at least when put in this context. Come last-chance workout, and the song's an afterthought, since they're still doing everything to get those last pounds out. We get treated to Rudy and Danny racing (sorts) on the stair climber. Oddly, I find it cute.

That race is icing of the cake, somehow, as both guys are set to break records on the show. Rudy could be the person to lose the most weight in 11 weeks on the show; he ultimately loses 12 pounds this week, for a total of 146 pounds. Yep, he breached the 200-pound mark. Danny's poised to hold the record for holding the most consecutive double-digit weight losses, and he does just that, too. He lost 16 pounds, and being the biggest loser of the week, he gets a home visit from Curtis Stone with help on cooking up healthy meals. Still, the idea of that many double-digit losses is pretty daunting.

Going below the yellow line is Allen and Liz. The game then begins: Allen tells Amanda that it would be in her best interest to keep him rather than Liz. Danny votes against Allen, and Rudy votes against Liz, so the deciding vote goes to Amanda, who pulls off a surprise and votes for Allen. Threats, yes? Still, Allen took elimination in stride, and now weighs 220 pounds.

Next week, the final four contestants return home for a reunion with family and friends, and then return to the ranch for the full marathon, with the finalists from last season cheering them on. Almost there, kids.

Oh, and before the scoreboard, a reminder: tomorrow's the Where Are They Now? special, also from 8pm on NBC. That aside, scorecard time:

Allen: 230 pounds (-8) (eliminated)
Amanda: 186 pounds (-7)
Danny: 288 pounds (-16)
Liz: 198 pounds (-5)
Rudy: 296 pounds (-8)
