So here we are: one of these four people will win $250,000 and the distinction of being The Biggest Loser, at least this time around. And, for us, two hours of catching up with all the contestants of
The Biggest Loser this season, and two hours of waiting as for who will be taking that title home. And they're also playing up the fact that one of the contestants will be getting a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, which I'm guessing has something to do with Jillian's new show. Oh, and right, the at-home winner. I always forget that!
But first, we get to find out who gets to take the third finalist slot. Remember, Rudy and Danny's huge losses last week kicked both Liz and Amanda below the yellow line, and everything went to a vote. Both come out and look amazing, but only one of them will take the slot. That slot goes to Amanda. And now, on to the rest of the contestants:
Alexandra, the college student and the first to be eliminated, started at 309 pounds. Now she weighs 218 pounds, losing 29.45% of her weight.
Antoine is up next, and we get treated to a cheesy romantic moment. Yep, right, he is now dating Alexandra, and they're losing weight together, and he's so motivated. He started at 367 pounds, and now he clocks in at 215 pounds, losing 41.42% of his weight. So, he's now the front-runner for the at-home prize.
Sean was eliminated the same week as Antoine, but that meant he had a chance to go home to his baby daughter, who he named Jillian Mae. "I'm sure she'll motivate me when she starts talking," he quips. He started at 444 pounds, and now he weighs at 289 pounds, losing 34.91%. Not enough for at-home, sadly.
Julio started his stint at the ranch weighing 407 pounds. Now, he clocks in at 227 pounds, losing 44.23% of his weight. That's just enough to kick Antoine out of the running as this season's at-home winner.
Coach Mo, the guy who seemingly had to carry Tracey's little crazy messes, started the season at 355 pounds. Now he's at 263 pounds, losing 25.92% of his weight. Still, not enough to knock Julio off the top spot.
Dina is now proud to say that she can jump the stool--the very same stool she struggled with back at the ranch. She started at 253 pounds, and now clocks in at 174 pounds, losing 31.23% of her weight.
Abby--ahh, I so want her to win at-home. We all know her story, about how she lost her husband and two kids in a terrible car crash. She began with 247 pounds, and now weighs 147 pounds, losing 40.49% of her weight. She did say she wanted to lose a hundred pounds--she did lose exactly a hundred.
Tracey is known for doing all these absolutely devious deeds, but now she looks, in Alison's words, "crazy good". And she does look crazy good. I went, "is she that Tracey?" Yep, she is that Tracey, the one who's run that mile she failed to finish at the beginning. She started at 250 pounds, and now clocks in at 132 pounds, losing 47.20% of her weight. She took the at-home frontrunner slot from Julio. I quote Mo: "supernatural!"
Shay started the competition as the heaviest contestant on the show, ever. 476 pounds. She now weighs 304 pounds, losing 36.13% of her weight.
Daniel began at 454 pounds, but that was last seasons ago, so no, that doesn't count. He returned this season weighing 312 pounds, and is very grateful for the chance the show gave him. "I was headed to death before 30, and
The Biggest Loser, saved my life," he said. (And indeed. Dr. H popped up and expressed how glad he is about Daniel and Shay's weight loss. It wasn't possible, they said? Possible. Very possible.) He now weighs in at 201 pounds, losing 35.58% of his weight--but again, that doesn't count last season, so if you think about that, his weight loss is still amazing.
Rebecca looks absolutely ravishing. You know, the sort that leaves you looking again and going, "who is she?" She started the show at 279 pounds, and now weighs at 139 pounds, losing 49.82% of her weight. That's almost half! Obviously that means she takes the front slot for the at-home prize, and she deserves it at first glance.
Allen was one of the last to leave the ranch, after starting the show at 325 pounds. Now, he weighs 209 pounds, losing 35.69% of his weight.
Liz, who was just eliminated, began the show at 267 pounds. Now, she's at 176 pounds, losing 34.08% of her weight--and that means Rebecca is this season's at-home winner. That $100,000 on her pockets in a looong snap.
There were, of course, a couple of surprises, too. They weren't done with Shay yet--Bob and Jillian tell her that she's returning to next season's finale, this May. The folks at Subway (sponsorship alert woot!) will give her a thousand dollars for every pound she loses from today until then. "You'll see Shay at 204!" she vowed.
And then there's Antoine. Yes, you all got it right--he's proposing to Alexandra. Some of us did see this coming, right? Still, it's really heartwarming, although it's funny seeing Alexandra look more surprised when he showed the engagement ring than when he got on his knees to actually propose. We also get to look at Erinn, the girl who Amanda went up against with last season as America's choice: she's lost 70 pounds since.
Finally, the moment we've all been waiting for: the final, final, final weigh-in. Rudy and Danny come out, eliciting the same reaction I had for Rebecca earlier: "who are they?" And then, to the scales.
Amanda, who was America's choice last season, began the show at 250 pounds. The person who Bob believes has changed a lot now clocks in at 163 pounds, losing 34.80% of her weight. Good figure, but honestly, after the guys' losses last week, I don't see her making any dent. Now, it's down to the two guys who have been neck and neck throughout the season--and yet they hold each other in great esteem. No losers, right? Not enough time for wordplay. Numbers!
Rudy, the guy who holds the record for losing 100 pounds the fastest in the show, began at 442 pounds. He now weighs 208 pounds, losing an astounding 52.94% of his weight since he began. 234 pounds! 234 freaking pounds!
Danny, the guy who holds a record of his own--the person who has lost in double-digits for the most consecutive weeks--began at 430 pounds. His final count? 191 pounds. 239 off him since the start of the show. 55.58% of his total weight. He is the winner of
The Biggest Loser. That is still astounding. Still astounding. The $250,000 is definitely just the icing in the cake on this one.
And so ends this season of
The Biggest Loser. It all happens again on January 5, with
The Biggest Loser: Couples, one with the heaviest contestants, yet again--twins weighing 484 and 485 pounds? In a public weigh-in? That is, as Jillian calls it, "family fun for all." We'll see you then. For the very last time, to the scoreboards:
Danny: 191 pounds (-239/55.58%) (winner)
Rudy: 208 pounds (-234/52.94%) (runner-up)
