The Biggest Loser: Jerry Lisenby Shares His Weight Loss Secrets
JerryAfterWant to go from a Before (on the left) to the after (on the right) like 62-year-old Jerry Lisenby? He recently talked about how he did it, even after being kicked off of The Biggest Loser early.

His competitors had rationalized his ouster, saying that even with his injury, he had the best chance of success at home. Turns out they were right, as you can clearly see from the before and after photos.

It's great to see some success, but don't let his big grin fool you. His plan is not easy and couch potatoes might not find much to love in it.

The main way Jerry has lost the weight? Exercise, exercise, exercise. He is currently working out a whopping two to four hours a day. But that's not all – he plays tennis, too! He's also training for and planning a 5000-mile, cross-country biking trip with his wife, Lynne. The trip is called “Age is Only a Number Tour” and will benefit a charity.

He's aware that it's not realistic to expect anyone else – or even himself after a while – to continue at his current pace, and he know he might gain some back if he cuts back on the exercise after The Biggest Loser is done with its run. But for now, he thinks "This is FUN!…I'm at a loss for words other than fun, fun, fun, fun, fun."

Diet plays a role in Jerry's weight loss, too. He's sticking to a high fiber diet, with complex carbohydrates and healthy protein like salmon. He eats a lot of fruit as well. He's given up diet cola, caffeine and alcohol as well. Although the working-out is clearly important, the time on The Biggest Loser seems to have been most helpful in fixing his diet. He says, “I was never able to get the eating thing down right. You can eat a lot of the right things. I made bad choices in the past but now I'm on the right track.”
